Renting Camp Facilities

HOUSING
Depending on the season, the camp
can accommodate from a minimum of 25 people to a
maximum of 550.
Our facilities are available for
groups from late August to mid-June. The
facilities range from rustic to modern.
All our year round buildings are heated, and
have indoor bathrooms and showers. The Hayden
Conference Center has a self-contained kitchen,
an indoor/outdoor fireplace, and wall to wall
carpeting. Our cabins provide dormitory style
living with two private rooms.
The warmer months open up other options. During
these times we can offer summer cabins with a
centralized lodge which houses the bathroom
facilities. Other options include the use of
Adirondack shelters and large wall tents. All of
our buildings are well maintained and are
situated in beautiful, natural settings.
PROGRAM FACILITIES
The camp has large athletic areas with baseball,
soccer, and kickball fields , and volleyball,
basketball and paddleball courts.
There are outstanding swimming and boating
facilities and ice sports during the winter
months. We have numerous hiking and overnight
camping sites on our grounds. A short walk
brings you to the Appalachian Trail. Vacamas
also maintains a low and high ropes challenge
course that is supervised by certified
instructors.
An indoor multi-purpose gymnasium can be
utilized in inclement weather. It houses a
basketball court and a stage. This building can
also be used for evening programs.
We also maintain a small petting farm and
seasonally we open an Arts and Crafts Center,
Nature Center and Library.
STAFF
The Camp Vacamas Staff is a dedicated team of
professionals with many years of experience
working in and with social
service agencies. We are committed to providing
quality programs to the organizations that we
serve.

FACILITIES and PROGRAMS:
ACCREDITATION
Camp Vacamas is accredited by the American
Camping Association and meets the requirements
for
licensing by the
New Jersey Board of Health.
HEALTH CARE
Emergency medical service is available from
nearby Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton
Plains, New Jersey or a ten
minute drive will take you to an
Urgent Care doctor. A nurse or EMT can be
provided on site upon request (If Available).
RATES
Our rates are competitive. The revenues provide
by our off- season groups are used to help fund
our camper scholarship fund.
