ATTENTION ALUMNI AND FRIENDS: This Earth Day, why not help the planet by helping Vacamas care for our 230 beautiful wooded acres? Your time and effort will make a real difference as we prepare for another season of fun, learning, and healthy outdoor activity for 1200 children and teens.
Bring your whole family, religious group, scout troop, bunkmates or LIT
group to help us clean up, spruce up, and get ready for the summer. We
need lots of help with all kinds of projects, so choose what you’re
passionate about:
GARDENING? Plant flowers and rake leaves
ACTIVITY AREAS? Clean and set up Creative Kitchen, Arts & Crafts,
Woodshop, Library, Nature Lodge & Outdoor Stage
SPORTS? Clean and set up the ball fields, volleyball court, gaga pit and
archery site; re-stain the back stop
BOATING & FISHING? Help get out the boats and set up the waterfront
TEEN ADVENTURES? Clean out canoe area, set up tents and lean-to’s to help prepare for backpacking and canoeing trips.
AND SO MUCH MORE. Clean up BBQ & firepits, storage sheds, cabins, dining hall and kitchen, and paint bunks and lodges
Even an hour or two of time can make a big difference!
**BUS TRANSPORTATION from NYC:
Bus departs at 9 am from 153 West 27th Street, New York, NY 10022 and leaves Camp Vacamas at 4 pm to return to NYC.
