WHAT WE DO

Vacamas was originally founded in 1924.  Since that time our programs have evolved to reflect a changing world.  But our underlying philosophy of fostering individuality in a caring environment, while providing exciting and challenging summer adventures, remains the same.  The lessons of generations of summers translates into the knowledge to make each summer special for each and every child.  Programs as diverse and individual as our campers are designed to develop skills and create memories that last a lifetime.

Vacamas programs for Youth is a non-profit organization founded in 1924 by a group of dedicated business people and educators. The organization is committed to enabling children of low income families to enjoy positive experiences. Over 5,000 children from the New York Metropolitan area benefit from our services.
