Nestled in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains, Camp Vacamas is located on 230 acres of private woodland on a 50-acre lake in the Northern New Jersey Highlands Region. Surrounded by the Norvin Green State Forest, Vacamas boasts some of the best hiking trails in New Jersey and is close to the Appalachian Trail. Our private and secluded grounds offer exceptional scenery in the New Jersey Highlands while still being only 45 minutes from New York City.

Housing
Camp Vacamas can accommodate small and large groups in a variety of overnight facilities from rustic to modern.
Labadorf Learning Center
The Labadorf Learning center was completed in 2006 and is the largest of Vacamas’ lodging facilities. This year-round heated building has bedrooms for 2-4 people which are set in two wings to house a maximum of 76 people. The Labadorf Center has a large teaching kitchen and full dining room. Three conference rooms, a computer lab and upstairs lounge make Labadorf perfect for all of your groups needs.

Hayden Lodge
Hayden Lodge is a large, modern, year-round facility which can house up 64 people. Accommodation is provided in two separate dormitories and is suitable for co-ed groupings. Large dining and enclosed porch areas are available for dining and activities. Situated on a cove on Lake Larriwein, this building enjoys stunning views of the lake and the surrounding countryside.

Leonard Franklin Theater Complex
This dormitory-style building is perfect for smaller groups and houses up to 32 people. Its large dining/activity area is great for a variety of year-round activities. Situated right in the center of camp, its convenient location is always popular.

Winterized Cabins
Located central to the main camp, facing our large, open sports field, are our-year round cabins. Each of our four cabins has bathroom and shower facilities and is heated. These traditional-style cabins can provide accommodation for up to 24 people. Available from late-August through mid-June, these cabins provide a genuine camping experience in any season.

Rustic Summer Cabins
The warmer months open up more options at Vacamas. During these times, we can offer summer cabins with a centralized lodge housing the bathroom facilities. Each cabin offers sleeping facilities and adequate storage space for up to 20 people in two dormitory areas. These cabins offer the traditional camping experience and are available from late August through October and from April until mid June.
