Camp Countdown:

Founded in 1989, Trade Winds Lake Camp encourages campers at every turn to explore who they are and who they want to be, to be excited about learning, and to strive to be fit and healthy. From music, drama and dance to outdoor living skills, the Three Rights system is utilized in every element of Camp, giving campers the opportunity to build on existing qualities and develop new ones.Trade Winds Lake Camp is operated by Vacamas Programs for Youth.

About Our Staff
Trade Winds Lake staff members are chosen from hundreds of applicants for their maturity, skills and commitment to young people. They are carefully screened and closely supervised by trained camp professionals. The typical counselor at Trade Winds Lake Camp is over 19 years old and has experience in working with children. Staff members come from the tri-state area, across the United States and throughout the world. All counselors take part in a week-long orientation to prepare for the most important job of looking after each child's physical and emotional safety. Each counselor has responsibility for between four and eight children.
